OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

WELCOME CENTRAL

Welcome Central provides services to those in Leavenworth County living
in poverty which include instructions about daily living skills, informationabout social service providers, access to job seeking skills, assistance in getting personal documents and transportation to helping agencies and other essential services.

Hours: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday – Thursday * Closed on Friday

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

DISPATCH

Dispatch positions are no contact and serve by answering Welcome Central phones, Schedule transportation, communicate with drivers when individuals are ready to be picked up, and general light office work. Volunteer as often as you like.

DRIVERS

Pick up individuals at Welcome Central and transport to essential local places like Walmart and other grocery locations, Pharmacy, DMV, etc. Community of Hope has a Van available to our Drivers. Monday – Thursday 9AM -3PM volunteer as often as you like

DAY CENTER

The Day Center provides a space for individuals from Leavenworth County to safely gather during the day to access equipment and facilities for basic needs.The Day Center provides 2 meals a day and is always in need of contributions.

Hours 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM every day.

Breakfast is served 6:45 – 9:00 AM   Lunch is served 11:30 – 12:30 PM Sunday-Friday. Saturday meals are served via community meals   *Due to COVID-19, our Day Center is limited to 12 guests. However, we have a second location satellite campus. The second location allows us to open spots for 20 more individuals to keep warm during the winter months. Located just down the street, which allows guests to walk up and pick up a free meal at lunch

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

MEAL DONATIONS

The Day Center serves two meals a day and is always in need of meal contributions. Casseroles are a great way to feed the many people who come through our shelter. We have a sign up form through MEAL TRAIN for a convenient way to contribute.

DAY CENTER MONITORS

Monitoring facilities, serving meals, and offering supplies to individuals who visit the Day Center.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

While community members are at the Day Center it provides a time to offer guided informational classes, heath services, education, and wellness classes. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer your time to enrich those in need.

NIGHT SHELTER

The Night Shelter offers those within Leavenworth County with no place to go or in need of temporary emergency shelter a warm, safe place for men, women, and – whenever possible – families to stay. The Night Shelter is able to operate because of a network of volunteers. It takes 70 volunteers each week four our night shelter to operate. As a volunteer, you can choose what day of the week, and shift time, you volunteer. 

Hours: guests may only enter between 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM all guests must leave by 7:00 am

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

NIGHT MONITOR

SHIFT 1: 8PM-11PM
SHIFT 2: 11PM-2AM
SHIFT 3: 2AM-5AM
SHIFT 4: 5AM-8AM

Helping guests check in, handing out sandwiches, snacks, preparing coffee, and handing out bedding.

TRAINING

Trainings are held monthly from 6-7PM. The training sessions cover policies and procedures, provides a tour of the facility and time to ask any questions you may have.
