Myranda Agnew

Executive Director

Joining our foundation after a 14-year tenure at the Leavenworth School District, Myranda Agnew jumped ship on her career in January 2021 and humbly accepted the role of CEO at the Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope. The Community of Hope is Leavenworth County’s homeless shelter which houses a Day Center, a 33-bed Night Shelter, and Welcome Central. Myranda joined the Leavenworth community in April 2007 and since then she has been involved in many organizations including Young Professionals, the Youth Achievement Center, Rotary, and she now sits on the United Way Board, she is a part of the Kansas Homeless Coalition, the Leavenworth County Mental Health Task Force, and the Leavenworth County Human Services Council. Myranda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Human Resources from Park University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University.

Myranda has a heart for community and that is apparent in the way she connects with people. Myranda has a genuine passion for building a resourceful shelter and bringing joy into every interaction she has with the wonderful people that make up our community.  Myranda hopes to continue to add to the vibrant culture that has been created, and build on the successes that the last 6 years have brought. With a previous history as a volunteer herself, Myranda has a high focus on a strong volunteer pool. She strongly believes that ‘many hands make light work.’

In a personal note, the Community of Hope invites you to learn a bit more about Myranda in her real life.

The real me: I love God and love the heck out of people! As an extrovert and Enneagram 1 (with a strong 2 wing), I am equal parts perfectionist and people pleaser. My favorite human is my best friend and husband of 8 years, Ryan. After leaving his career in Education, Ryan is in his 3rd year at Westside Leavenworth as the Worship Leader. He is all things to our family – family chef, family clown, and almost the only one who just enjoys going with the flow. We have two sweet girls – Addyson who is 10 and Braylee who is 6. When I’m not at work, my family and I are probably out on an adventure together. Although I’m a sucker for a lazy day at home, we fill our days with hikes, traveling, being in the community, at a sporting event, or anything else outside and with friends. When I do get a moment to myself, you can typically find me at a coffee shop reading a book, visiting with a good friend, or serving at the Community of Hope. I strive every day to become more and more like Jesus by offering the same grace and love He gives me to those around me.
